How To Create Your Own Website?

You can build your own website for free. I use free site providers like www.freewebs.com and www.geocities.com They provide free sub-domains and hosting spaces to all their registered users.

Till you master the craft of web designing you can manage it with free service like http://tinyurl.com/26mqxk

I would highly recommend you all to learn the basics of HTML and to design your website using Microsoft FrontPage and Notepad. FrontPage is as easy as Microsoft Word and comes with Microsoft Office.

Two important tips:

[1] In the beginning, use file manager at “geocities” and site manager at “freewebs.” Use their upload options to upload graphics files and create new html pages using add and edit pages to your site.

[2] Play with HTML codes. Visit a site you like and see its HTML codes. You’ll get it from the “view” menu > “source” in your browser like Microsoft Internet Explorer. Copy that code and paste it in FrontPage HTML view window. Now in its normal view window alter things you want to and see what changes take place in the HTML codes. It’ll help you to master HTML and web designing. This trick worked for me.

Few more word about creating your website.

[1] It’s always better to have your own registered domain and space. It gives you the competitive edge and people will believe that you’ll stay in the trade.

[2] For better results don’t design your web pages clumsy. Keep it simple. Simplicity works better.

[3] Don’t keep more than enough graphics in you web pages.

[4] Before you buy your own registered domain and space master the craft with free site providers like www.freewebs.com and www.geocities.com

[5] Always keep a book on HTML handy for your reference.

Good article. I started off with freewebs. They're a really good company. My only problem with them is advertising but who can blame them.

I would also recommened to people starting off to learn CSS. A good book I know which helps is:
CSS Mastery by Andy Budd.
I learnt a lot from reading it.
